Anas al-Abda, the leader of the Syrian National Coalition, has stated that the ceasefire (put in place on Sept. 27) is effectively over. Not only has fighting been erratic and tensions high throughout this “peaceful” time, but he also warns that peace negotiations may fail completely.
While the International Committee of the Red Cross and Syrian Red Crescent convoy is sending in the largest amount of aid to the area since 2012 in hopes to bring down hostilities, and despite President Obama’s hopes for pease, it appears that Russia has other plans. Vladimir Putin has been moving artillery into Norther Syria, in the area of the divided city of Aleppo.
