Today brought about another round of school closings due to bomb threat. Only this time, it was all 900 schools in the area. Threats were made electronically to multiple Unified School leaders early today, and the police decided to err on the side of safety and close them all down. The one email mentioned explosive devices, assault rifles and pistols. It was ultimately traced to an IP address in Frankfurt, Germany, according to law enforcement sources. However, the person who was responsible for these threats claimed to be the victim of bullying and “an extremist Muslim who has teamed up with local jihadists”. It was determined that the victim did not show any knowledge of Islam. Perhaps there is a real plot in the works, or it is nothing more than a hoax. No matter what the intentions, there was no danger to the schools and they will resume normally.
What should you do in the event that your school or workplace is being closed down?
